History

Bodegas San Isidro, is located in Pedro Muñoz, a village in the northwest area of Ciudad Real, in Castilla La Mancha. The village is located in La Mancha region, exactly in La Mancha Alta. Located at the right bank of  Záncara river at 650 mts altitude, Pedro Muñoz has a population around 8.000 people and 100 km2 of municipal area.

The winery was founded on  1.954 March 16,  by 18 people, with a clear intention, improve the management of their jobs and a life dedicated to grapes. The first Governing Council was formed by 11 people, the president, a treasurer, the secretary, 4 directors and 3 members who formed the Supervisory Board, and finally a Religious Advisor. At the begininig the installations were located in a building at General Sanjurjo street. The first year of the activity 76 partners harvest  749.328 kg of grapes.

Currently we are 450 partners, with an area of 5.000 vineyard hectares. We developed several red and white wines varieties. We work with Airén, Macabeo, Viura, Verdejo and Sauvignon Blanc for white wines and Tempranillo, Cencibel, Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah for red wines.

Mainly, we are dedicated to production, ageing and bottling white and red wines. Also we develop sulfurated musts and rectified concentrated musts.

Nowadays, the winery has 33 millions liters capacity and process around 25 million kg of white and red grapes.

Inicially, this project was focused in making sulfurated musts for the elaboration of  juices and concentrated must, but seven years ago, Bodegas San Isidro de Pedro Muñoz, began a radical change in their concept of treatment and processing grapes.

The winery began with an important reforms number to focus its production in making quality wines to work at international markets and position our bottled wine brands in a better situation to be recognized by customers as quality wines.

Today, the winery is in an important tecnological improvement process and increasing the storage, in 3 years we will have 5,5 millions more storage  capicity and the latest tecnological advances in processing and wine treatment .

Bodegas San Isidro de Pedro Muñoz bottled white wines, red young and oak ageing wines for international markets such as USA, Belgium and Ghana.
